1870-CC $1 Liberty Seated Dollar Reverse with Motto – First Carson City Silver Dollar PCGS XF45

The U.S. Mint in Carson City, Nevada opened in 1870 and this was the first dollar minted at this new branch Mint.  The die pair is Osburn-Cushing 9 (OC-9).  This die pair was determined to be the first to be used at the Carson City Mint according to Osburn and Cushing who studied this issue’s emission sequence by die pair.
